A friend bought a Commodore computer from a a yard sale (Its called a 'Garage sale' here. Something to do with Metric/Imperial?)
And kept on going on about playing games on them 'Back in the day'.

So he cranks it up, puts in a game, and his nickname is in the 'High Score' list...

After several seconds of silence, he says "This must have been 'X's' computer 20 years ago....."

Speaking of the commodore, I still have the one my dad bought for my nephew (they're still in their original boxes) in the 80's I believe, and was passed on to my son in 2000 when he was 4. The start of his computer science major now in his 3rd yr of college. They are packed in my 32' enclosed dual car hauler with all the wife's other crap she hoards, but my little bit of stuff is is too much to have around. And that doesn't include the 10'x20' storage we have of all her crap.

Both terms are used here. Not always accurately either. You see garage sales in the yard, and yard sales in the garage. On the west coast they use the term tag sale a lot.
Copper, brass, and Leather. 3 of my favorite things.

It all depends on the location of the stuff you're selling.
