Jiffy, I just want you to know I am not trying to derail your thread. A 22% gain is very impressive. I want to highlight other investments.

Knowledge and diversity are the primary focus for investment and survival in my mind. Food, shelter, and clothes are the first priority followed by commodities. I invest in gold and silver, but only that I can physically touch. I am invested in the stock market, but do not count on it. As others have said, I have a stash of cash for emergencies. No I am not a doom day man.

Now the most valuable "stacks" I have are my family, health, canned goods, cattle, horses, gasoline, diesel, garden, brass, copper, aluminum, ammo, and guns. I would not trade these "stacks" for all the gold and silver this forum could provide. Transportation will not be a problem with the horses, beef will be readily available, and the weapons will provide wild game. The best investment was listening to other people and comparing their thoughts. At age 99 sitting in a nursing home, I may have a different perspective.

Please understand I am not critiquing those that invest in metals, only providing another view that people in the city may not understand or appreciate. I do not care what gold and silver is valued at, I care about waking up to the next sunrise.
Give back more to this world than we take.
