    Injury led to a score

So, I was loading some stuff in my truck today. One of the last things I loaded was the base to an old Sony tv. It had the old double click glass doors which didn't stay shut too well. So sure enough, I gave it the old heave hoe up into the truck and at the top the doors opened on their own. On the way down, the corner of the glass door hit me in the nose and did this.

So I headed over to urgent care since the copay is half of the e-room one. As I pull in the lot, a general outside service contractor happens to see me and ask if I take scrap. (I had half a load already so that's how he figured) I said yes. He asked if I wanted an air conditioner. Of course I said yes. So I set my bloody paper towel aside and helped him lift it into the truck. He saw my nose and asked if I was ok. I said yeah, may need some stitches but always have time for scrap. Got loaded, gave him a business card, and went inside.

Long story short, urgent care dr was fresh out of school and suggested I go to the er as she "never stitched a nose before and didn't want to mess it up". So off to the er I went. Got in and out fast but the numbing shot to the nose hurt twice as much as the original blow. Pull out 10 nose hairs at once and get punched in the face at the same time and that's about how it felt. My eyes never watered so bad in my life. Lol. 8 stitches later and I was released. Get them out in about a week.

So it was a bit of a rough afternoon. But at least I got a good sized air conditioner and a few pieces of copper out of the deal. Maybe not enough to pay for the er visit, but enough to soften the blow a bit and keep my injury from being for nothing. So I'll take it. Hopefully the business card handout brings me some future business from the guy and it'll be totally worth it. Only time will tell.
