newbie to scrappig. is this a normal idea about winter?

So new. Like 2 months in. Just been collecting electronics and wire and tearing down. Fig I'll wait until I get a nice inventory so can have something on slow weeks. But was thinking about getting 3 or so garbage cans. And over the year fill with mis. Wires and electronics. So when winter comes I can have wire to strip and electronics to break down. What does other scrappers do in winter???? As I'm in ny. So winter can be rough at times

We work long hours in the summer and work harder in the winter. In the scrap industry right now, if you don't put in your best effort, you aren't going to last.

Yeah. I'm sooo into as much as can. Like said. Trying to get nice inventory started before first haul in. Been 2 months but madly in love with it. All about it. Tearing down to going out looking for it. I wake up excited thinking about the treasures I might find. And treasures what people think is garbage

Be prepared to not receive big $ because prices are low.

In the winter I put on pants and shoes, I live in Arizona so not a problem here as much as other places. I would sell as much as you can in order to figure out what if anything to hoard. Scrapyards the more you go the more you know!

Welcome from Western New York. Get out and talk to people. Finding a few businesses that are willing to work with you helps greatly.

My plan this year was to tear down hard drives during the winter. At the end of December I got a call to come pick up some hard drives. It was 922 pounds of drilled out drives. I still have not finished breaking them all down. This is part time for me. I have found that storage space can be a huge issue at times. I'm trying to clear out some space now because next week it'll be storage auction acquisitions
