    I have been wanting to buy a processed half cow/pig. plenty of offers on craigslist but still cant afford the investment though. My wife's uncle raises chickens and gives us a dozen for free every so often. Tastes better and saves us a couple of bucks. And don't forget if you have space and a bit of skill to grow a vegetable garden its always worth it; my mom would always can the extra's.
