    Craigslist Find

So I answered the below ad from craigslist

I contact the guy and we set up a meeting for later in the week. I get to his house and he digs the below items out of his garage.

The only problem is some of the pins are bent.
I haven't had a chance to dig in to the computers yet. Hopefully there's more stuff in them.

    nice haul.

the monitor will eat some profits but should have enough left make something yet.

would have to double check with Apple / mac but they used to take everyones stuff free of charge... just need to box it and print label. may be an option if best buy or goodwill isnt. not sure in your area who accepts them but long run its cheaper to just pass them on than strip and dispose of them.

Take to time to check possible re-sale of the complete towers and the finger cards(aka daughter boards). Great score. Mike

Best Buy will take the monitor for free.

Gonna have to start keeping an eye on Philly Craigslist, only about 25 miles due north. Probably wouldn't roll into the northeast without protection though.

    Thanks all

Don't think the 486's are working as some of the pins on them are bent.

Don't really try to resell towers anymore. I tried it before with no luck. The last straw was when I met a man while picking up some towers I won in an auction. He offered to buy them on the spot, thought about it, and decided to wait. He gave me his contact information. We texted a few times and he was basically full of it. I strickly break things down now. And that's a point that I stress to people I deal with as many have had questions about personal info before giving me their goods. I have retained a few good customers after telling them that.

As long as you have a city address on an id or a bill in your name with a city address, the city takes electronics for free here. They have drop off points in different areas. I usually gut my TVs/Monitors (not flat screen), put the back on, and drop them off there.

Any suggestions on researching the resale value of finger cards? Everytime I google any info on them I don't get any pertinent info. Thanks in advance

Yes check with our buyers on the forum most have price lists.

On the reselling of the towers I was thinking of them being vintage and not to sell them to a just anyone but a collector. Information is available via google and others here may be more familiar than I. Good luck, Mike
