Just thought I'd share a video I found on youtube! Anyone have a hammermill or think the investment is worth it? I'm looking into machines to save for such as an industrial wire stripper and other stuff that can be useful.

I love this kind of stuff smashing and crushing but I feel he is losing what ever profit he is making in the cost of running the machine. With that said if I had one I would probably use it. Lol

Haha maybe for the radiator ends but appears to me the other things he shreds also disintegrate the copper so I would say NO! But cool vid man.

I usually cut those loops off before I cut the steel plate off . If you try this method get a storage tub or somthing simillar to catch the remains being shot out .

Well yea I feel like it's not loosing profit of you get a shaker table to seperate it all, these are just test runs to show it not how I would do it... I'd have a shaker table magnet stages and hand sorting for large pieces and sell the non magnetic dust in large quantities and it sells auprisingly well..
You should watch more of his video's. Its pretty impressive. I'd love to have one. One of our members has talked about hammer mills many times.

Let's pull our aluminum cans . Bet we could have one by next year with all the cans I see flying thru the streets . Wonder how many cans it would take ?

Devin, if you get a shaker table you don't need magnets, you can set it up for material specific gravity in relation to water and it'll run various types down different channels. There's quite alot to shaker tables.

Sure does, asked him for a quote on one like the large one in the video. Ill tell you guys when I get a response, this would definitally be on my list of things to buy if I could get the right supply. After of course I buy a nice industrial wire peeler

Got a reply they are opening a section on there website for scrappers right now it's for miners. It's 7500 for there small hammer mill.

particular the recapturing of the Solder that at this stage could easily be melted and separated from the copper by pouring off melted metal

I agree this is an interesting video but I can't help but be concerned about grinding up boards like this. Wouldn't the whole process be considered hazardous? Also what happens to what I think would be contaminated water? Do they just dump it on the ground when they get through? Maybe I'm just wrong and don't know what I'm talking about. It wouldn't be the first time.
