Hah, we think alike! The gent at the dump is super defensive about his area, gets all fussy about what goes into what bins, and how he keeps the area clean etc etc, so I asked permission before I started grabbing, and then brought him a 6 pack as a thank you, and now he waves me in and lets me go about my buis. Being polite, a "yes sir" and thanks goes along way. Amazing what happens when you treat others with respect.
