I was wondering what is happening in your yard with all the doom and gloom. Is the boss laying people off? Maybe he is more into non ferrous which is not hit quite so hard?
Does your yard use one of those big excavator/crane type machines with the 5-tine grapple? We need a picture of you running one of those monsters!!

We are down to 3 people, bare minimum. Now though, there are only 2 there since I have been at the other yard. I do know my boss has been calling around for scrap to buy as well as other yards calling my boss for scrap to buy but nobody has anything. Where we were loading trucks couple times a week we are loading once every couple weeks (not counting the yard truck which makes small runs).
And no, we don't have the grapple, just a Cat which I keep sitting in and pushing buttons and the warehouse Mgr said ''if you're smart you'll get in it and get your own stuff with it'' but....its scary!!!! Lol, I've progressed to sitting in it, playing with the control sticks and turning some buttons on. One of these days I'll actually, uh, move it with me driving! Heck, as scared as I was of driving a tow motor, this should be a piece of cake if I can run a backhoe right?
