I SERIOUSLY wonder this exact same thing. The funny thing about Craigslist is that it used to be for hipsters and tech folks, now it is the online ghetto. I have bought a few things here and there but selling is an entire separate beast. I won't post anything for sale on Craigslist at all. It's just not worth it. I value my time and replying back and forth only to figure out that somebody wants me to deliver a 20$ item 30 or so minutes to their trailer because they have no vehicle is just ridiculous (happened
AT LEAST twice when I first started out). Also if you have no car, why are buying whatever it is. Buy a car!
Now I have a chain for resale, my first outlet is always
eBay. I know a lot of folks don't like it but I have never had a problem and I do ok now that I started using calculated shipping. If it's not "eBayable" then I sell it on one of the little community yard sale pages on Facebook, been having mixed luck at that as well but never as bad a Craigslist. Lastly, I have a store that I have an consignment account with and that surprisingly has done very well. My personal belief is that eBay and the consignment store do well because you can use a credit card at/on both of them and folks are using cash less and less.
