    I believe what you are referring to by your description is called "copper weld". It is also known as 6A or 8A depending on gauge. I sell it as is and get appox. 1/3 the price of #1 copper. If I remember right as hi as 1.20# to as low as .60# depending on the markets. If you post a pic I could tell you for sure if that's what you have.
