Gary...ha..Small area, huge freaking crime rate. Was considered one of the worse areas of the country a few years back. When I went thru..not much had changed. I know truckers who won't stay out side their truck depots there. Go figure.

Someone should do what you all did a couple years back when that one guy was writing the article on metal thieves, an was calling them scrappers. Folks on this forum sent him an email, an asked him to use the correct term. If I recall he even replied that he didn't know an changed his wording from then on.

Mech, use your super powers an find us that thread!

Gary, Detroit, there's places all over the country similar. Hi West Memphis! Not been to Detroit, been to Gary an West Memphis..an both have earned their wonderful reputation. I felt safer in the heroin infested neighborhoods in sections of Baltimore. It's not political. Crooks come in all parties an types, same with mismanagement, an incompetence. I mean wasn't just a few years back, Detroit's mayor was busted spending money like it was water going on trips with some chick that wasn't his wife, an using city funds for it? An ended up in jail for not just that, but taking bribes. An they call Chicago corrupt. Pfft.

Ahh..here it is. From the wikipage on him..."On March 11, 2013, Kilpatrick was convicted on 24 additional federal felony counts, including mail fraud, wire fraud, and racketeering. The conviction stemmed from a 38-charge felony indictment, in what a federal prosecutor called a "pattern of extortion, bribery and fraud" by some of Detroit's most prominent officials.[6] On October 10, 2013, Kilpatrick was sentenced to 28 years in prison.[7]" Kwame Kilpatrick - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Extortion, bribery, and fraud..all that's missing is beat downs, an you would think he was a politician from Chicago back in the day. Not picking on Chicago, but it does have the rep an history of being very corrupt.

Ahh..Politics...gotta love it. Supposed to server the people, yet the only who gets served is the politicians bank accounts, at the expense of the people their supposed to serve.

I need a shower now..I feel dirty after this. lol

Sirscrapalot - There is no distinctly American criminal class - except Congress. - Mark Twain, yes I've used it before, but it fits. (sub congress for, politician.)
