WHOA NELLY!!!
Made this saaah-weet find this week. At first I thought it was some sort of altar for some Eastern religion or another. Turns out it's actually an inkwell for calligraphy & such.
10.5 pounds of beautiful brass that will NOT be headed to the scrapyard. I found the same thing on an auction site, sold for $150!010204: MAITLAND-SMITH GILDED BRONZE INKWELL, L 20" : Lot 10204

Now that is a nice piece. I try not to save such things, although I would sell them rather than scrap them. I might make an exception for this piece, however...
