    My question is WHY does it seem the fuel pumps die right after you fill the tank?



    Just once it would be nice to drop an empty tank

    That ride may have been more of a blessing than having to peddle your old ass that far. LOL. If you and him keep in touch and he is just as honest and willing to learn something new, you may have found not only a friend but and older honest one. It never hurts to have a friend and an old helper, especially when you have dopers watching you.
    Think about it.
    By the way. I am almost 60 and still ride my 1986 TREK 18 speed road bike.
