I have no problem turning in light loads. I know it feels like you should only go to the yard if you have x amount of lbs or dollars saved up but I got over that a long time ago. money is money and who cares if you make a weeks worth of pay in one day or three to five days turn in. If the yard isn't that far way it doesn't kill you in gas and at least you did something that day to contribute.
NEVER EVER feel like $59.00 isn't worth a turn in because in scrap time/work, thats like working three 8 hour days in a normal 8 to 5 turn in job that ends at 5pm. Scrapping is a 24/7 hour job - its hard work, its dirty work and most times its scut work. NO amount is too little to turn in. If I needed to turn in a $5.00 bag of cans to buy a loaf of bread and a pound of meat to feed my family no way in hell would I feel guilty. Who cares? At the end of the day you provided, never feel guilty or shamed!!!!
The scrap yard isn't going to judge you for the amount you turn in, if they do they suck because at the end of the day you helped their bottom line and neither should you judge yourself nor any other scrapper judge you because we are all in your shoes!!
You know that saying - ''Walk a mile in my shoes''
