Seems I may have posted this before, but here it goes again.

I had a Dodge Ram for sale. I had it out at my parents...so this guy calls on it as I was out picking up a pizza. I was nearby so I agreed to go show it. He drives it, says he wants it, we settle on a price. He says he is short $100 and is going to the corner gas station to use the ATM. Okay. So I waited for about 15 minutes. Decided he is a jerkoff and that was his way of blowing me off. Headed home and reheated dinner. Ended up selling it for $200 more to a guy on payments. He was late on a few of them but he finally paid it off. I rarely agree to payments because I know how much people suck and can't keep their word. So it was hardly a surprise when about the 2nd or 3rd payment in, he calls and asks if I would like a "really nice big screen" as a payment instead. Nope, cash, and now. Oh okay...gimmee a few days.

Hey Sledge, I have gotten the jerks asking if I'll bring whatever to come for them to look at because they don't have a car, can't get away, whatever, etc. I would never dream of asking someone to do that.

No, I won't waste my time, gas, energy for you to either decide you don't want it, or offer even less AFTER I waste my time bringing it to you. Some people realllly have a LOT of gall.

Seems I heard something along the lines of "you attract what you are". This has me pretty bummed because I don't feel like I jerk people around and waste their time. I actually feel bad if I inconvenience someone. So I don't get why people think it's OKAY to be a complete @$$hole. Decency and courtesy is in extremely short supply these days.

Dude, I had a 2 different guys text me and asked if I would deliver them a $15 tire off a scrap car. Mind you I sell my used tires CHEAP.. Any shop around here will charge $30-$35 bucks for a used tire and then nail them with the "balance, valve stem etc." I'm really trying to do people a favor and make some money off the car- without trying to compete with a shop.. So I had two different guys- one north of me and one south of me ask if I would deliver a tire to them.

My response: Well, let's see, I'd lose billable time, It would cost me $8 bucks in gas.. so no.. it isn't worth it to me to lose $ on what I'm trying to sell you.
    One guy got the hint
The Second guy said "Well yeah dude, but I don't have a car that I can get to you.. THAT'S WHY I NEED THE TIRE!" Oy! Maybe he doesn't have a friend.. or a mommy.. or the phone number to a taxi company *Shrug*
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

Could post in your ads that you will not deliver. However, given the propensity of people to completely gloss over pertinent info, I'd say you'd be wasting your time.

I actually do this now after the second tire delivery request.. I post "Sadly I have to post this in the ad now: I cannot and do not deliver"
    Has worked thus far.

I remember seeing ads where people really seemed unapproachable- bordering on @ssholes themselves.. NOW.. I know why!

Or you might put in the ad, that you charge an extra $10. for delivery. Just a thought,,,
