The thing is that most people know that what they have is worth more than scrap, but are too lazy/busy to list it on Craigslist or
Ebay. I think that "one man's trash is another man's treasure" applies to this concept. Look at pull and pay yards for example. People know the car they bring in will be parted out for way more money than they paid for it, but they don't have the patience or resources to do it themselves
The retail I would start would be on Ebay to begin with anyway.
I could start a bike shop with all the bikes that come in everyday. I am sure that this applies to all scrappers. Who has time to run a scrapping business and bike business though?
BTW that was a rhetorical question. I know some of you fools work around the clock and have your hands in a plethora of business ventures.
