    I'm 70 and still cant get over the fact that almost no one's word means anything any more when, not long ago your word meant every thing.

    I kind of miss the "good ole days" for that reason. I can remember one time I had my eye on this nice car at a used car lot.
    I called my bank and talked to the asst. manager and told him the price of the car and he says "stop over in an hour and pick up the check".
    Now they don't even know your name or care. Everything kind of revolved around a handshake. It was as good as your word.
