Like commodities, x number of tons delivered for a certain month(like 3 months or 6 months) This is why they can keep the prices the same for a long time without a change. Sounds like the yard you are using think if they change thiere prices every day with the market that some days they will be paying less for thiere metals yet they get paid the price of the contract. Most of the yards I use the price stays the same for as long as 6-8 months at a time no matter what the market does.
I bet thats it , theres is no real competition they are the game . so all I need do is find it just keep finding it
