The 'Green bins' are owned by our local council, whats placed in them is owned by the council, its parts of the rubbish bn pickup. We use wheelie bins.
The property it sits on is a factor By me a company Huron a subsidiary of IBM has containers with metal only and mix containers ,I was occasionally hitting the mixed ones but was finally stopped by the security at Huron = In short i was told you are on private property you must leave . It's obvious to me a thief will hit a metal only but given a choice dumpster divers are not wanted and there many logically reasons for it .
I have been so persistent that I am over looked & known for it. But if I go back to Huron petty larceny will be my reward , even I know that its not worth what I can find . some times you have to scratch one off the list and move on.

When I was 10 I used to trash pick 13 dumpsters twice a day at an apartment complex. I was looking for porn and anything cool for my room. I climbed inside dumpsters and cut open bags. Anyway, people would yell at me and call me names like "trashpicker" but I never cared. I found tons of cool stuff back around 1980.
