    Never happened to me but in your defence, if you had sold them that would have been his problem. Your time, gas, and effort is not free and you should had him pay for the monitors.

    Maybe I am wrong, but I feel like a little bit of my time, gas, and effort would be worth keeping a customer (especially one who was giving me free stuff) happy. He may not tell many people about the scrapper who brought back those monitors, but he would have told everyone about the time he had to buy new monitors because the scrapper(by no fault of his own) took the wrong ones.
    Yes the manager gave them to him, but everyone makes mistakes.The only thing I would have done different would have been to take them back that day or the next at the latest. After all next time it could be you who makes the mistake...
