    what is your favorite homemade tool for scrapping?

    everyone has a tool they have made or something cool to make life easier.

    a long hook of some kind for the hard to reach stuff.

    I totally agree wavecrazed. My hooks save a lot of time. Makes it a little easier on my bad back too.

    Yeah, I taped a small paint roller to the end of a long aluminum pole for pulling things out of dumpsters. You can get them at home depoe without the paint brush roller thing on them for a couple bucks, works great.

    So far i think the best homemade tools i use so far is my carpenters speed square to use as a wedge to pull copper out of motors,and also (saw on this great forum) is a brake flaring tool clamped with a razor blade to strip coating off wire(havent tried the wood block with holes and a adjustable screw to do the same trick yet)...

    i agree totally that is one great time saver.

    It wasn't homemade but last year we used two floor model TV's as workbenches for breaking down electronics, then when the tops got busted up too bad then we scrapped them also. If you pull the tube first then you can drill a small hole up out of the way and set a small ice cream bucket under it to catch screws/bolts and small bits of metal.
