Mechanic688! Are these the amp things your talking about? I have about 6 or 7 i havent opened one up yet. and the boards your talking about inside do I just throw them in with my high grade mother boards? I havent found a buyer around my area for boards yet so im just stock piling until I have enough worth to ship to someone on here:Quote:

Its raining cats and dogs here, so i took a little ride to my friend richies garage and after playing video games for a couple hours, hanging X-mas lights between a break in the storm, we got busy cutting down and re-welding the tow hitch to fit in between the frame rails so itll bolt in and be behind the flip up license plate im making in the rear grill/roll pan:

Next up date should be with it bolted in and with a flip up license plate if theres ever a break in the rain thats supposed to last all week!
Just make sure that the tongue of the trailer is long enough because your shortening the turning radius by tucking the hitch up inside. If their too close you might "jackknife" it while backing and put the trailer into the back (fender) of the truck. A little longer spread between truck and trailer gives it a more gradual movement when backing. When you do a correction it's not as extreme.
For sure! I have to rebuild the trailer tongue altogether going to lengthen it and a-frame it, if you look at the tongue on the trailer now, it is way to short to begin with somebody has repaired it several times and looks like its been shortened a few times in its life....it has a crack in it also so it needs to be replaced already....I was also looking at hitch extenders but dont know if that cuts down on weight load ratings using one of those are not....
Not for scrapping but I get a lot of comments when at stores buying bulky items with my helmet in my hand.
This is a clone of a 1938 BMW made in China, they used them as a light military vehicle until about 1985. It is so close to a 1938 BMW that most of the parts will bolt bolt directly onto a BMW.
This is also a test to see if the photos will show for me.

still raining here so havent messed with getting the tow hitch installed yet, but did take in a load of scrap metal and recyclables that i managed to scrounge up here and there, doesnt look like much but still pulled in $138 dollars and barely topping the truck bed rails!

Hello fellow scrappers hope you all had a great christmas!! I been on the go since the day before xmas, but it hasn't been scrappin......the ol'lady and I decided to buy each other a 5th wheel for our gift to each other and move on to the inlaws property (rent and bill free) for about a year and save up some money to help us get on our feet! so ive been moving,hauling stuff to the dump and remodling the inside a bit before we get settled in:

That yard is really close to my warehouse! I haven't been there yet though, I called them and their prices were pretty low...at least what they quoted me over the phone.
Ya i usually go to a few other local yards for my larger scrap loads, I only go there when i have a small load and tv's! I had about 6 tv's not pictured with that load, all the other yards will only let you take in a couple a year per id....sac scrappers you can take a unlimited number of tv's and computer monitors in whenever.....I usually go to the yard on Qst and elkhorn, or TKO depending on what area im in.Quote:

they only pay .3 cents a lb. but ive already used all the other yards and my limit for tv's so unless i have the time to strip the tv's of the copper and dispose of the waste, i really dont have anywhere esle to take them, so i pile them up and turn them in to sac scrappers because theres no limit and some times its easier then stripping them...Quote:

I'ma echo BC on the move. Good call. It takes a certain kind of person to live in a 5th wheel or any rv full time. I know, I've done it. Lol. I've also done 3 months of tent camping while working for Amazon.com out in SE Kansas back in 08'. You will save up a bunch of money living this way. Need any tips or advice on full time living in a rv, feel free to pm me. Its something I enjoy and have been doing or around for the last 10 or so years.

Thanks Brasscatcher for checking in on my thread! We set a goal to move to a different part of cali (Chico) where I have family and getting the 5th wheel was a step that would help us get there faster then trying to rent and save to move, this way we can have a little nest egg , so when we move we can pay rent space at a trailer park for awhile (later down the road maybe put a down on a small house) and find local jobs there and not be stressed on how to find income.Quote:

I actually thought about that I had a pretty decent size shed in my backyard that held all my tools and classic car parts and ebay items i sell, i dismantled it and loaded it and everything that was in it into a small storage unit until i get done moving and while i was there today trying to find some carpentry tools for a side job i have this weekend i said to myself "if i get a bigger unit i wouldnt be digging through everything , and could use the room for scrapping" funny you mentioned it also, i think that will be in my future plans when i get done remodeling the 5th wheel which is kind of hard to do while im also living in it! Well Im Back At It!! First real scrap run since i moved into the fifth wheel ,yesterday i did a electrical job at a church, and got to take home three huge light fixtures that take up have my truck bed that we demo-ed out of a ceiling,and some smaller can light fixtures, also picked up a couple computers, and today had a carpentry job and installed a new door/jamb and while i was there I was given a old zinsco panel and mast with the aluminum wires (no breakers) and a old bed frame, also have some misc metal in there like bike rimes and etc..

5th wheel is looking great. What a transformation. I had brought up to my girlfriend about doing the same thing except parking one inside my warehouse. She almost thought about it for a minute.

Swung back by the 5th wheel and loaded up the rest of the metal i had to top the load off(not pictured), being limited on space to try and repair the thrown belt (it supposedly ran) and store untill i could sell on craigslist I looked up a local mower repair shop in my area via google, and sold it as-is for a quick $40 bucks to get it out of my truck , and took the rest to the scrap yard for another $35, not bad for a few hours out of the day..

Well I got to say the scrap metal cards I made are working, due to not having alot of free time due to doing construction side jobs , I havent been pursuing scrapping much as I was and havent been posting ads on craigslist , but im still getting a few calls off the cards...today i picked up a heavy cast iron tub and some other metal items! :

This will be my first cast iron tub i scrap and was wondering ?at most yards you guys goto does it go straight in the metal bin or do they pay different for cast iron? Im going to ask the guys at my yard either way just curious??
When I had a bunch of cast iron sinks, I brought them to TKO and they said to just throw it into the bin with everything else...I think Sac Scrappers might pay differently for it though. You should call them and ask.
I got to get it out of my truck tomorrow since i have a crown moulding job in rocklin monday ,And Sac scrappers is one of the only yards open on sundays so ill most likely take it there and ask, was just curious if the average yard pays separate for cast iron then steel since ive never taken in any cast before , besides small stuff i just throw in the metal bin.....how is you and your business doing lately??Quote:
