Is the 'state' land, public land???

What about a battery powered Sawzall??? cut it into smaller pieces and drag it out.

No, it's not public land. There's actually several roads going in with thick cables blocking them to keep people out. But, there's also private property on all sides with nothing preventing those people from getting in.
There's nothing more fun and more effective than hitting something repeatedly with a sledgehammer

I'm confused, are you looking in posted, inaccessible places for scrappable items??

It's not really inaccessible. They'll let ATVs and hunters go up there

I think it is open to the public. The road is a few hundred feet away

Meh- if it's in a public area and abandoned, I probably wouldn't have any issues with removing the 'junk'.
Do you plan on dragging the entire car out/ or do you want to disassemble it and cart it off?? You can just break it down into manageable sized pieced and drag it to the side of the road and make a pile (away from traffic) and come by with a truck and scoop it up.
Hood/trunk lid/doors/bumpers? catalytic converter? battery? starter? alternator?

Then it would seem like it's private property. Just because there's nothing on the sides bordered by other private property doesn't change that.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
