I picked up 64 Nextels from my work the other day for $30. Mostly Motorolas, some Samsungs and a Blackberry or three. That averages out to less than $.50 a phone. Cell phones average about $6-6.50 a pound right now, no batteries or backs on them. With batteries, they're worth about $3.75-4.00 a pound. I took the batteries and backs out of each of them to see how many phones it takes to make a pound....5 phones with no batteries or backs averages about 1 to 1.2 pounds. So lets say 60 phones gives you 12 lbs, your looking at a little over $70 for 60 phones. So remember this if your thinking about buying a bulk lot of phones. Try not to pay more than $.50 a phone to make it worth while. Although you can sell the Li-Ion batteries. Boardsort.com has them listed at $1.10 a pound. I didn't get around to weighing the batteries themselves to see how many it would take to make a pound. Good thing about the cell phones...they're small and don't take up much room like computers, laptops, servers, etc.
