    It doesn't really have to be metal to be re-usable. I was cleaning up a shed that had old cane poles hanging everywhere, and finally decided to haul some of the other than metal off too, a whole load of rotten wood and old cane poles. I built a bonfire with the rotten wood, but listed the stack of cane poles on FreeCycle, and had umteen requests for it all. The guy who came and got it said his wife uses them for art work. I guess you never can tell. I've made several scrap connections as well using FreeCycle
