I'm sorry your help didn't work out...(Why I try to do all my own labor)........You will find some treasures in those old units and if nothing else look at it as a learning experience

Thanks for giving us an update. Sorry it turned out to be such a pain in the butt. Especially with the help. You bought them lunch that day. That is enough. They refused to work fark them.

No need for you to be sorry - it's not your fault my "friends" are lame! I'm still grateful that you pointed this opportunity out so I can get the whole experience- good or bad

Good morning! I didn't leave until well after midnight but i didn't want to leave any of that stuff out there because someone would've stolen it. I'll take pictures when i get there this morning. There isn't as many monitors as it looks like there is too. I was starting to worry a little when it was mentioned a couple of times.

Yeah there are a few of them are the IIgs and I'm pretty sure that the monitors that go with them are there as well. I wasn't able to get all of the stuff off of the property that day which I'm regretting now. There may still be a way to get it though...

Just a note : I want to put my stamp of approval on the raid foggers. I threw one in the back when we left the 1st day, one in the back for the drive home on sunday and one more (just in case) when we got the truck to the shop sunday night and I have not seen one live bug. Which makes me very happy!

It looks like a good haul. I hope you make a profit.

Not sure I would be calling those people my "friends" at this point if I were you. Friends want you to do well and care about what you are going through as well as what they are going through. Just my thoughts. Sounds like you've been a friend to them, but maybe not the other way around.
Success consists of going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiasm...... Churchill

I just can't believe the audacity to ask for pay when they didn't do any (or much) work.

The audacity knows no bounds! I popped on here just to share this : I got another text that said "Can we get paid?" I'm not a confrontational person but the bill is getting close to $200 now so I figured that it needed to be addressed. I sent a message saying "we have been discussing that - How much do you think that you've earned?" (Morbid curiousity not only killed the cat it has done far worse) I got a quick reply of "$100.00" If I was standing I would've fallen over. WHAT?!? so after the shock value wore off a little I sent back "Can you give us a breakdown of where you came up with this?" That was an hour ago and I have yet to receive a reply. What i am really hoping to accomplish with this is to get them to actually think about what they are saying and then be able to justify/explain it to someone. I'm not a bad person - I'm just trying to be realistic about it. I honestly can't wait to hear their answer though considering their first one was so... I really can't find a word to describe it... interesting maybe?

Even if they did something for that 45 minutes, $100? I wished I was paid $100/hour...well when I am doing real estate deals I am, but that is besides the point.

I agree with olddude, calculate all the extra expense that you have occured because of them, and simply tell them that you owe them nothing for no work, since they cost you xx amount of dollars more than you expected due to laziness.

I can see your hesitation over saying anything at all to them, they are your friends, and you don't possibly want to loose that friendship. Will Julie, the harsh fact is, they are NOT your friends. Friends don't tell friends they will do a job and then complain every moment, and then leave their friend struggling, while you work your butt off.

Actually, I remember you saying that you bought them Subway for lunch. Well you know what, that is their PAY right there.

We get Subway a couple of times a week so I know the cost for 2 subs, so that is their pay.

I agree - I'm not really worried about salvaging the "friendship" i just don't like to get myself into a position where i get all mad and hulk out on them or something.

They look like either 5" floppy drives or zip drives at least on top, further down looks like standard floppy drives.

Yep they're floppy drives... the super old kind! lol I was just basically throwing everything I needed to take apart that was smaller than a tower into that bucket. It was messing up my pallet organization to try to keep them on there.
