After last haul of copper I invested in a new cutting torch for $129.00 from Northern Tool. I had the tanks already. It took about a minute to cut one open.
Inside there are four bolts holding the motor core in place. I have a cordless impact wrench that zips them out fast like. The core then lifts right out.
Easy money!
I also use an angle grinder with a metal cutoff wheel. I have found though if I try to cut right through the casing all at once I will go thru wheels much faster, about 1 wheel per casing. If I make a small cut all the way around, then a deeper cut and finally go all the way thru on the third time, the wheel will last much longer.
