Hello from TX

Hi all
I was pleasantly surprised to stumble onto this forum when searching Google about Scrap Metal Regulations etc. in TX
I am really ecstatic to be able to join this community of scrap metal dealers and sharing in this common interested.
My name is Suzette du Plessis and I am a single mom, originally from South Africa, who has recently moved to the USA with my three wonderful children, mom and sister.

I have been involved in Scrap Metal from my childhood as my father and brother had a partnership, but sadly both of them have died.
I have managed my brother's 2nd scrap yard for my brother when I completed my studies in interior design (yep, what a scary combination lol) after my father died and later joined a large scrapyard, as bookkeeper and later became their financial manager.

In 1998 I opened my own scrap metal business in Cape Town, South Africa up to 2010, when I left for the USA

In fact, my whole family has been or is still in the business. My eldestr sister and her husband also has their own yard.

My 2nd sister and I are both now residing in the USA and combined, we have around 47 years of experience (28 and 22 years)

I know the South African laws on Scrap Metal very well, but would really like to get accustomed to the USA, especially TX laws.

We are considering to start up a business as Scrap Metal Traders, only dealing with companies and not any public.
We both have had a lot of experience in dealing with large businesses by collecting their scrap, and I have been involved in Exporting of Scrap Metal to India via packing of Containers.

I am very excited to be here and cannot wait to meet everyone here and share ideas
