Who is the cat expert in here?

I just picked a cat. It says Ford yl84-5k283-aa on both sides of it.

Is it a good one? Or just an average one.

    Thanks in advance.

I am not an expert (I was thinking of furry friends), but did find a catalytic converter catalog online of a buyer in Pennsylvania- sellyourcatsdirect, I don't know anything about the company, but thought it might helpful with identifying the converter.

Pretty nice place. They even cover $5 of the shipping. And I can text a picture and get a quote.

I figured they were having problems. I would love to sell cats to them, because shipping would be way cheaper for me I am sure.

I got some great info in here as I expected. Thanks to all. I don't usually have a chance to get cats as I like to concentrate on e-waste, but I know they have some good value.

Here is the story. For several months now there is a neighbor that I drive past. His side garage door faces the street as he lives on a corner. I always saw a couple things stashed by this door. I could see the cat as I drove by as well as a bumper, a satelite dish and some other nice scrap stuff. I figured that he was trying to get into scrapping and was accumulating. I always tried to catch him outside to strike up a conversation, but alas it never happened. I am surprised that the cat never walked away as well as the other stuff, but we do live in a good neighborhood.

I went out today to restock the rum and diet pepsi as there was a sale on both up at Walgreens. On my way home I am glancing down the streets as I usually do (especially on a nice weekend), and I see a pile in front of this guys house. I back up and swing over and cross my fingers.........yes!, the cat is at the bottom of the pile as well as the rest of the stuff that had accumulated at the side of the garage.

Either he or his significant other got tired of it and it went out to the curb.

It is nice to know that a guy can find just one and get some bucks for it even after whatever shipping may be involved.

Focker this is what all the fuss is about.

As a matter of general interest, the vial contains a bit over 1 troy ounce of platinum group metals recovered from catylitic converters, I have several filters on the go at the moment.

Ur better off leaving the guts in the cat. Unless u can seperate the palladium and rhodium from the platinum but id be carefull the fumes can kill u. Send me a pic 724 705 5781 ill tell u exacly what its worth so u don't get screwed. But if it was toyota I could tell u just cos I know all the codes.
