Shows you how people will turn on you instantly.
I don't think he's turning on you I think he is just saying he shops around, which is to be expected and what most people would do. BUT I don't think the forum is the best place for a price pissing match, I'm sure you both have some cats you have the best prices on and some that you don't. Just like sometimes Amazon had the best price on one thing and sometimes Walmart has the best price on another thing and sometimes a ma and pop store has the best price on another thing, and those can change day to day and product to product.

    Everyone love everyone!

Maybe it's already come up but have they figured in the exchange rates ?

If one were quoted in Canadian dollars and the other quoted in U.S. dollars it would be like comparing apples to oranges.

Rough exchange rate is currently 1 USD = 1.32 Canadian

Let's say that APA was offering 100.00$ for a particular cat. Ccon would have to be offering 132.00 $ Canadian to be on par.

(You can make a sh*t ton of money by leveraging off the exchange rates if you know what you're doing. You can take an awful beating if you don't.)

APA quoted in USD, the prices he gave me are top notch and Tom is one heck of a decent man, it's unfortunate our postal rates have gone through the roof.

And to ship via freight would have had to get a bill of lading and a Customs Broker.

On the other hand buyers in Canada have had a controlled monopoly riding the gravy train, but the Internet the worlds information network has opened the eyes of the seller.

It was easy to ship to the USA, the Canadian shops obviously began hurting on buys and had to pay to play or get out of the game.

The US dollar is a global currency, even though I'm Canadian I expect to be paid in an equivalent dollar value in my currency.

British Colombia is my home turf, the scenery remains the same but the population has changed to mostly Asian, you can not even change the oil from your car in your driveway let alone cut off a catalytic converter.

We moved from BC to Manitoba 8 or 9 years ago, this province is like living back in the 1950's, I have a love hate relationship with this province but would never move back to BC.

I really appreciate what Tom from APA has done for me and would someday love to have a face to face.

Back in the day when I shipped semi loads of scrap to Tacoma Washington the exchange rate paid my oxygen bill and the trucking to the US.

My eBay account goes back to 1997 when Pierre was the sole owner so my account is in USD, many times they have tried to get me to change over to the Canadian site - not going to happen.

PP makes big bucks on the exchange rate my other half has a Canadian account.

Hint they do not back in the USA.

APA blew the C'con quote out of the park, Johnathan's quote was also in USD.

You guys and gals south of the 49th parallel are fortunate to have APA

That $350.00 assay fee from C-con came at a very bad time, Pat had filled out my income tax and forgot about receipts for my cat purchases Canada Revenue deemed everything as taxable income, my pension was cut back to $500.00 a month then to make matters worse we split the sheets.

I'm now homeless but having a ball.

So off the BC I go, do a bit of prospecting and discover the wash plant pit is putting out slime's with 17 ppm platinum, problem is I don't have a 100% interest.

Spent some time hanging around the Okanogan, bought that Honda VT 1100 on my credit card, then ended up on Vacouver Island and bought the sail boat.

Still paying off the card on monthly instalments.

Would I do it again, yes in a heart beat.

    This next trip Dawson City.

I've told you guys many times $20.00 buys two Bingo cards.

Yea $350.00 Canadian for an XRF shot, I was shocked when the invoice arrived, I had ICP assays from American Analytical for three platinum group metals and gold done at $125.00 US.

You cant take an XRF shot to an investor, only an assay from an ISO certified laboratory will raise eyebrows.

American American Analytical Services, Inc. | Metallurgical, Environmental, and Chemical Testing Laboratory in Osburn, Idaho

The C-con XRF assay was no worth the paper it was printed on. I have since discovered a certified metallurgical laboratory in Saskatchewan that I often use for critical assays.

Even with inflation taking its toll on our economy a full blown assay from SRC is still half price of what C-con charged.

Gill i wish you all the best and i thank you for all of your input, it has given me some keen insights. i feel this thread has been debased with confusing comments, outdated information, and some partial instigation. you are welcome to Ccon anytime for an assessment. APA is an excellent catalytic converter buyer, i believe he is an exceptional match for you and your business needs, i request any further questions that you (Gill) have, to be asked and answered solely to APA without my participation . Thank you for your contribution to this thread.

Gil/alloy/gus whoever you are I find it humorous that you have broken the man's spirit to buy convertors
