Got a few Mustang cats here

A buddy of mine is asking me if I can get anything for these. I believe this is a total of 8 cats. Does anyone know about how much I could get?

The precats are worth about $13. ea. and the cats are worth about $40. ea. Don't know how current the prices are. This is supposed to be a pre.

    This is the cat.

The poster has 8 pre cats from Ford Mustangs. The Rockaway picture is something different, it's mid 1980s Ford Criwn Vic with a different cat set up.

Apa - Your quote matched Rockaway's quote. Sending 8 cats would have them pay half of the shipping cost. Do you pay shipping or partial shipping cost?

    Thank you

With the market crashing, we cannot price up at this time. We offer free shipping on a Gaylord box filled with trimmed cats.

I will pay $15 out of my own pocket to have them shipped to us as a one time offer of good faith but I must have them shipped by tomorrow USPS 2-3 day service.

You can trim them down very close, just do not cut into the "honeycomb" ceramic substrate.

    https://catalyticcontrol.rockawayrec...-scrap-prices/

As per Rockaway's catalytic converter price list, they are offering $13-$16 per Ford pre cat. 8 cats would equal $104-$128. We offered $160. We are substantially closer to Chicago than NJ for shipping cost considerations.

I don't know what happened to my post so I'll just retype it. Somehow it disappeared. Thank you for your offer of $15 but don't worry about it. I'd need a few days anyway. Rockaway offered me $14 per pre cat and $26 per regular cat, which ended up being $160. That was via text message so maybe they didn't grade them properly. You're right about being closer so shipping to you may be a better option. That and I'd hate to find out they are worth less after I already send them to them. I'll pm you when I have them in my possession.

    Thank you!

You don't have any "regular" cats. You have 8 pre cats.

You have 4 pre cats on each Mustang. Why is there 4 pre cats? That's the way the engineers wanted it at Ford at the time.
