20 dollars a ton? Was that a typo?

Never mind. I went back and read it slower. I know shred went from 200 to 180 a ton here and everything else has dropped 20 to 30 cents a pound.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

I think you'll be able to adjust. Out here, most people don't research the value of scrap cars. I'd bet that out here, you could cut prices $20/Ton, and most people wouldn't notice.

I'll wait to scrap our old vehicles, though.

****, I hope we hit the bottom soon. This is getting ridiculous.

Maybe the GF will finally cave and let me start a stockpile now, though.

Yeah lower prices suck, but it has seemed to make buying hooptie cars cheaper as well.

Yea, I was offered a nonrunning car for 200. then I asked what it was, it was a Geo Metro which only weighs 1800 +
At 160 a ton I'd be losing money right from the start. Told him I'd get it for $75. and he acted like I hurt his feelings. Imagine that.

My regular yard is at $70/ton for shred (includes vehicles) and $85 unprepared, $100 prepared iron.
Down the road 50 miles it's $125 shred, $135 unprepared and $160 prepared. Price good thru tomorrow.
Big difference, but both yards expecting a drop first of November. All nonferrous is down 20%
