You guys can have it. I'll live through your images of hurtling yourself down a mountain on a thin piece of wood or whatever thin material it is these days.

ohmygosh!!! SSaL, I thought you were a worldly guy by all your quotes!! I guess you are truly snow-challenged!! Actually, that's a good way to be...I would love to live someplace where snow didn't enter the vocabulary.

I've used snomo's around the farm but I'm not sure I would enjoy any sport where you die if your engine quits and you have to go out with more than one machine for this reason. Here in the East Kootenays the flatlanders from Alberta come out every winter with their $25K, 200 hp sleds and die by the handful by playing chicken with mountains. Its called highmarking--they blast up the side of a mountain and just before they spin out they turn around and burn back down. Sometimes an avalanche chases them down. A snow avalanche sounds nice--not! Take a close look at one and you will see 18" diameter trees snapped like matchsticks.

Oh I used to deal with that stuff. Then I went to Arizona for a total of 10 years, got used to no snow, an then moved to my sandbar. It gets cold but I still don't get that cold wet stuff cept rarely...now I gotta go knock on wood.

I also did 3 months in a tent in the middle of KS winter. I'll keep my sandbar, you all keep the cold an snow.

That looks awesome, our yard was closed today also, the roads were awful today, looked and rode like a logging road except it was washboarded ice, worse I had ever seen, ours was freezing rain and sleet instead of snow

    WEEEEELLLL.. BACK ON TOPIC.. AHEM!
The Blazer curse has been lifted. Got up bright and early, made phone calls to ensure people were open. Hooked up and hauled arse. Pulled in-- got a "I'm gonna have to dock ya for snow weight" comment (Apparently 70+ MPH down I-65 still didn't get her clean enough) .. I said "I have a broom (luck favors the prepared) and pulled back off scale- broomed her off, she got DA CLAW and was out of my life. Guy coming in about an hour to hopefully buy rims and tires for another $125.
Still have the parts I pulled and some wire to strip.. but the bulk of the beast is now in a snowy pile of shred in Southern Indiana!

    Thank GAWD!

Ok Gents, I am onto my final phase of Blazing Hell.. err I mean "Blazer-ville". I used Ebay to find out sold items and prices, then cherry picked the higher priced and sold parts that were a cinch to pluck from the truck (low hanging fruit.) I then took pics of all of my items and placed them in one big ad in the "Parts by Owner section" of CL. I debated placing an ad for each part separately, I would like to ask advice from you more seasoned folks to know whether you think one big ad, that is all inclusive, is good or do single ads for each individual part work better?

    Here is my ad:
Parts S-10 Chevy Blazer GMC Jimmy Oldsmobile Bravada with 4.3L Engine

I am starting with CL because if I can pilfer this stuff locally, and get the asking prices (or close to them) I would be happy. Anything that doesn't sell on CL in say 1 week from today- then place it up on Ebay to reach a wider audience. Also, if I sell off CL- no "Listing fees, final value fees, shipping etc." Granted the "reach" is significantly smaller on CL than Ebay.. but I will test the waters and see how it goes!

Would've got a lot more than scrap value for the fenders, hood and rear doors but oh well...

That's crazy, we're struggling with $125/ton here in NorCal. I sell almost all of my complete vehicles to Pick N Pull (they have a couple in AR so you might've heard of them) and only sell bare parted out carcasses to the scrap yard these days. Best it's ever been is $200/ton.

Yep.. I know, the hood had a big ding in it, and I don't have the space to store the fenders and doors. Took what I could get from the "parters" and called it done!

The closest pick n pull is in Memphis an hour away which is good for me, I've heard their commercials while traveling and I could see how they could buy up the cars. Sledge said above he was getting 240 and I'm kinda envious of him, at 125 it would be doable but I would have to develop a new approach
