    65$ for 2 cats?!?

    Hey guys,
i just got back from my local yard. I was taking in a load of non ferrous and happned to have a couple cats in my bed. The guy working the scale infomed me that they buy cats at reasonable prices. I had a large flat one off a 1985 chevy c/k with a carburated 305 under the hood.he called this a small bead and gave me 15$. The other was off a late 80s celica, he called this one a mazda and gave me 50$.
First things first: i'm new to selling cats but i'm pretty sure mazda is not a grade, but you guys can correct me if im wrong. Asid from that i was just wondering how badly i did on these two. Btw neither were aftermarket.
Im going to have a couple more soon and will be contacting a guy on kijiji offering 25-125ea but id like to learn a bit more before i contact this guy.
    So what do yall think?
    Thanks
    Rob

sry to tell ya but you still got screwed. there are buyers who specialise in cats. you should have gotten near double that.

my last pickup load between half and 3/4 full was well over $4000 at pan handle converter in Dothan AL.

google catolytic converters . there are several posts there with prices qnd pictures.

The prices sound fair, for a local buyer but you need to shop around, you can find better prices on those. Bead converters are worth the about the least. The best way to move those is cut it open to separate the beads form the iron. Bag up the beads and sell them on ebay or to a buyer/refiner.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE

the small bead shoulda went for around 45 to 55, the toyota depending on if it was off the manifold in the front of the motor about 25 which would mean you got overpaid, if it was a regular foriegn about 80, to get good prices on converters at a yard you have to take in alot of them and be consistent, my yard pays me close enough to the big boys to where its not worth it for me to ship
