    Buying Monitors

So I was able to buy a 15" HP monitor the other day for $3 and I'm in the process of breaking it down. I'm trying to figure out what's what and how much it's all worth, but my question to everyone is this...At $3, did I just pay for a little education or will there be a little bit of profit at the end of it? BTW there are a lot more where this one came from for $3 each.

I'll ship you multiple gaylords full of them if your paying $3.00 a piece.

I am assuming they are LCD monitors.

The good news is you are getting a very cheap education. We have two buyers(I know one for sure) that buys monitors so check them out to see what they will pay. I am certain that $3 is generally too much to pay.

Look for ones that can be sold as working. Check ebay sold prices to determine actual value. Don't forget the cost of shipping. 73, Mike

Agree to all above. Here is an idea, buy 10 for your "deal" at $3 each. Test them all and take the most modern/biggest/nicest working one. Sell it to a buddy for $30. Tare down the rest for a free education. Education is priceless ... Win Win

    Good luck

In my opinion, 15 inch monitors are not worth the time. I know my buyer of monitors only pays 1.50 for the 15 inch and like 4 for 17 inch and larger, but the screens have to be good. Other than that, to break them down, you have pita screws and little fluorescent tubes to deal with and just usually 2 little boards, one midgrade and one low grade power board. At 3 bucks a piece, you better look to resell if they work. Education is priceless, but eating is just pricey.

Thanks guys, I forgot to add that the one I got worked, and I assume the rest of them do too. I might buy a few more and try to sell them, and if they don't sell I'll break them down.

I just bought two monitors one 18.5" HP for $7 and one Samsung 22" for $9. Crazy right?
Both working and the sound video board (yes it has speakers) on the HP alone sells for $30-$50 and I can get $40-$50 for the Samsung locally.
It's what you got in resale more than scrap that's for sure

Hey i know it's many years late but assuming you still have those contacts and similiar prices, could you provide me a way to contact you. I am interested in sourcing LCD monitors in large amounts, will also pay a fair price.
