Thanks! i love it that trailer has saved my arse multiple times!!! lol.
I'm thinking of installing electric brakes on it maybe this weekend... i had a lot of weight on it and just fried my brakes this past weekend going down a steep hill.. might have to pull the trigger and install them, because i don't want to be going through breaks every month...

Dude Thats a big no no . Over the years I have had my father total a brand new 350diesel truck because the trailer brake controler wasnt working . Yes It will ruin your truck braked and prob warp your rotors . the the saftey issue for yourself and other people is my biggest concern . Its dangerous to say the least not having brakes on your trailer

If the DOT somehow catches you with no breaks on that trailer, they will impound it. When I hauled campers (travel trailers) for a living some of the guys used to add a lead link to the safety chains, that way if the trailer wrecked the truck would break the link in the chains and release the trailer. The scale master at the scale house on US 6 walked out one night and checked one camper hauler and happened to jump up on the safety chain and it snapped. It was an automatic $ 1000. fine payable on the spot before he could leave. When it comes to the DOT, you don't mess with safety.

Knowing how to drive a stick would be a valuable scrapping skill, for more mpg and buying cheaper trucks. Now I want to learn, when it's an option instead of an immediate necessity. The one person I know who can drive a stick doesn't have one, and I don't have much patience for his attitude.

In El Camino ads I don't see stake holes or loops or anything that could hold a hook. I still want one, but it would need some bodywork before being worth the gas to drive it.

Charn, you could go in style; From what I was reading they started making these way back in '54.
