I buy bare bright as well just not often. Pm me if you are interested in price. As for tours, I don't do them anymore. Too many times I have and next thing I know I have a new competitor open up. I don't like making it easy for others.

Are there granulator systems that can separate Cu AND Al at the same time?

I'm referring to processing stuff like BX cable and Teck and some of the high voltage cables with Al conductors with copper ground shielding.

Teck cable is pretty common up here in the great white north in industrial plants 'cause it's way quicker to install. I don't think it's allowed under the US electrical code, where conduit is the standard.

I only have seen vague references to vibrating or air agitated sand beds, where the Cu sinks and the Al floats.

    Jon.

I don't know but assume there have been improvements. I will be very interested in what you learn.

One thing I have noticed in many of the youtube videos advertising a machine for sale is how little material is being fed. I have watched them putting one small hand full at a time and large amounts of copper come out the machine. 73, Mike

This is the smallest granulator with separation setup I have found.

Midas100s - from a company in the UK

Site doesnt let me post link just search midas100s on ebay

Please report back your experience with the granulator- There is so little useful information on granulators and separators on the internet. Least information is with separators and how the work. Lots of videos of operation without explanation. Granulator is very important to separation, because if it doesnt break up the material properly, the separator cant do its job.

I have a Conair Wortex LP-350. The bad part is I found out after purchasing is this model is for conveyor feed- which means it takes small pieces and works with those. The JC- xxx is the model that uses batch fed. So a bunch of wire together and not small pieces.

Whats strange is that the 1/4" screen has been working great with THHN. Works pretty good with 18awg/2cond wire which is what I have the most of. Had planned on getting smaller screen 3/16" or 1/8" but I'm not sure if it will work better, and the screens are expensive. If I dont chop up the wire somewhat it jams.

After watching a copper granulator run . The machine chop the wire up in little pieces. Then air is used to blow the insulation away from the copper . The one I look at had a turbo mill to help separate the fine wire . Or what some people call hair wire .

What machine was that if you don't mind me asking? Separating hair wire would be a nice accomplishment. I'll eventually end up with one, but need a shop with 3 phase first.

I took some little baggies of granulate copper through the airport . Took it out for security . They ran it through the x ray machine . Then they pulled it to the side . For a second look. Had information with it .

I have not seen the cm mini in person . But I have seen the video. It could be a game changer. For a one man operation or little small families yards .

Just cut the plugs off, turn it into #2 wire that way and `move on.
Stripping wire is a waste of time, if you can spend the same time getting more stuff.
I don't even cut the wire harness out of scrap dryers and washers any more. I timed myself and would make like $8-10 an hour. Waste of time. I cut the power cord and done.
