Has anyone seen this type of tool before?

So I picked up a box of tools at a yard sale over the weekend and found a odd tool actually several of them, but these 2 IDK

Lawson is on the handle, on the butt of the tool it is stamped 415, on the opposite side has >PF-GF< , Made in Germany, and US Patent Number 4472877

The lever rotates the cutter and the bend metal cover is spring loaded, and has a sharp edge on it.

So googling resulted in nothing, so I looked up the patent # and gave some pretty basic info. Found out it is a wire stripping tool for large diameter wire. Beyond that I have no idea.

Patent US4472877 - Tool for removing insulation from cables - Google Patents

This is probably for ripping short lengths of insulation off of romex, so the inner wire can be stripped and connected to outlets/switches.
