shop crane mod

I modified a shop crane into to a scrap metal crane.
I added a HF electric winch and extended the crane to 12 feet.
I added a 8 ton hydraulic cyclinder and counterweight and my max lift is 300lbs
I can really load up a truck with this.
I don't know how to load pictures but you can see it on firstontop com click on the otp workshop and it is near the bottom.
My next project is a small scrap compactor and would love to see a DIY scrap compactor .

I'd like to see them too, but on my old slow connection it isn't possible to view videos. I went to the topdotcom place today to see your lawn tractor forklift, but as stated, it was near the bottom, and would have to wait for all 50 photos above it, that I wasn't interested in, to load, before it would show.
By posting them within your thread, Via a photo hosting site such as photobucket or upsimple.com (my pick, it's in french, just use the bottom link ; ), and insert your photos link into the "insert image" icon's pop-up box (less the preloaded http in it) you'll be doing yourself and us both a favor

Haha! OTP, a cherry picker with an extended boom, cool! Where is the counterweight? Looks like you'd want it right on the far rear wheels cross member. Those things can be difficult to roll when carrying a heavy load, especially on "rough terrain", bumps, etc. If you could get some larger wheels on there it might help that some. Old tractors had weights to bolt right onto the wheels which were heavy as hek for their size. One 25 pounder I just looked at has a 1/2" hole right through the middle of it, so if you had 6 or 8 of those weights, and a 1/2" steel rod welded upright over both rear wheels, you could easily add another couple hundred pounds ballast to it all. That's all really cool what you've done though
