Those lenovos are chinese arent they? Must be cheap and light. Iv done maybe 50 laptops so far and im up to almost 40#. Depends on the make I guess.

As for those OMG boards, id never accept mid grade for them either. Id suggest trying another buyer of all your getting is mid grade.... like someone else said, they wouldnt accept less than telecom grade. As for some being copper, I can check and tell which ones are copper and which are gold.

It wasn't a very large board. I fit all of them into one standard paper ream box (10 ream box)

Maybe you guys should post a breakdown of a laptop or two. Without reselling the parts, I don't see how there is any money in taking them apart.

IF the board weighs .75# at server board prices that would only be $2.70 vs a 5 pound laptop at .85# is 4.25 (with you taking the 2 mins it takes to pull the ram and hard drive).

This isn't really a question of "what is your time worth", I'm not even sure if you are actually making more by breaking them down.
There are some things that you will not make more breaking down, this certainly may be one of them.

Its real simple for me. Its not profitable for me to sell as incomplete because shipping would kill all profits. Nobody here in my area pays for laptops at all. Thats the reason I strip them.

Its funny about laptops...people can make so much money on them.but forget how tp.

Pull all electronics. Save all screws and sell as set on ebay for like $5. Scrap battery. Srll sodimm memory on ebay or scrap. Sell keyboard chassis. Sell rrmovable cd/dvd caddie if works for a premium. Sell hard drive. Sell power supply if you have it. Sell screen if qorks for a replacement screen. Add all that up and you make more money than desktops. Takes a bit longer to pull apart...but still.

    Keep all that in mind.

Had no idea screw sets sold like that! And my only issue is I cannot test my stuff. I dont have the equipment yet. None of my laptops I got had power cords so I had no way to test anything. Id love to be able to sell as working parts! But I dont know if any of them work...

If you continue to get laptops then you might want to consider one of those universal power supplies with the changeable ends to fit different laptops.

Yes they sell.like that. You also can sell items as "for parts untested"...I do it all the time on stuff I have no vables for. Still get better than scrap value 99% of the time. Sell keyboard and screen chassis that way...youll get $5-10 even for non working as some of the stuff willl work or can be used like the keys for I stance. Always check the model # on ebay to see what is for sale now and what has sold to expand what you can sell.

I do this with business and laser printers especially...trays, doors, lcd display all get listed.

Actually I am about to send a pallet full of laptops to a buyer in your area. I'm getting $0.90/lb for nearly complete units (no HD). However they need pallet or gaylord quantities as a minimum. Once you start getting larger volumes, there is a very good buyer right in your area.

I agree with most others, not worth my time to break them down. I usually pull units that are good or worth fixing, and turn in the rest as-is. Out of this pallet load I pulled out about 20 or so good/repairable units, probably worth $30-60 each, the rest are turned in as-is.

EDI right? I emailed them asking what they require for a minimum load. Never got a reply...

Hey guys, I hope it's OK for me to ask this here. (If not, someone just let me know please.) Do any of your laptop loads ever contain Lenovos and/or Fujitsus from the last few years? If so, please PM me. Thanks.
