What to do with some old tablet laptops

So we just came across a stack of about 20 + Fujitsu Lifebook T4215's. Nearly all are in working condition but they're without power adapters.

I'm in the process of wiping the drives but after that what should I do with them? Sell them off as a lot? Scrap em?

They're all in decent shape so anyone have any idea's on what the value might be?

Looks like you can get power adapters for between 10-15 bucks online. I would buy one or two power adapters and see if you can find a buyer for them individually on craigslist or ebay. Looks like people are asking around $150 ea so even if you sold 20 for $100 and only had to buy a $15 dollar power cord your still golden.

Those are Core 2 Duo machines and should sell fairly well. If I was closer I would make you an offer on the lot at more than scrap and try to turn a profit on them myself. I've had pretty good success lately repairing laptops and selling them on craigslist.

    Thanks for the info Craasher!

My only issue is I need to wipe the drives. The license key on them is for XP Tablet PC edition and unfortunately not XP Pro. And for the life of me I cannot find a copy of XP Tablet anywhere so most likely they'd be leaving the shop without an OS.

list one without PS or OS on Ebay, see what it does, you might find people who have one and want a spare. For testing the water, I liked using the 10 day deal, start it on a Friday afternoon, let it run ten days. Then you'll have a good idea what a buy it now price should be. Sometimes when I had multiple items, I'd only list one at a time, as if it was the only one in the whole wide world, then after it sold, I'd list the next one ; )

So are you taking the Hard Drives out and putting them in another machine to wipe them if you dont have a power adapter? Also how do you know they are all in working condition?

The reason I am asking is I might be willing to buy the lot from you for more than scrap value. I have all the CD's and stuff to plenty of different OS's and might be able to come up with something that will benefit us both. I'll have to look through my stash of CD's for a tablet edition but if not I have plenty of XP Pro's I can put on there.

Nope, I have one single adapter for the whole lot so I'm just firing them up and wiping them that way.

I could always throw xp pro on them but being that I work in an IT office, and the keys on the laptops are for XP Tablet, I'm trying to stay somewhat legitimate. If they had an XP key on them I'd just blow them out and reinstall Windows.

Not to mention, I think you lose some of the functionality with the tablet by not using the XP Tablet on them. Not that that's a big deal, I'm sure most people would just grab them for a working laptop.

You might be able to contact Fujitsu and see if you can order one of the Restore CD's that these shipped with. Sometimes they will send you one cheap. I think your sitting on $2k with 20 machines at $100 a pop and would be worth it to investigate. I dont know if you paid anything for them or not but if you didn't then you have say $200-$250 in power adapters to order. Maybe $20 bucks for one CD that would work on them all and you could make over $700.

If you decide you are just going to scrap them let me know and I'll see if I can make you an offer on them.

I actually have the ac adapters for sale. Plus some batteries. Let me know. I know I got a bunch like 5. One is listed on ebay now.

Genuine OEM Fujitsu LifeBook 3.7 AC Adapter CP171180-02 cp171180-02 | eBay

Yes this is my auction. The free ship is only snail mail. I could do a priority ship lot if you buy them all. lol.
