Work Bench???

WHat kind of work bench do you guys have? Have you considered buying one and assembling it? Just trying to get some ideas before I either buy one or make one myself. Thanks for the information.

I have 2 workbenches that are completely covered with my ewaste so I can't even use them lol!

I never buy a work bench. I am constantly being called on to scrap them...

I junk picked an old set of kitchen cabinets with a full countertop...solid wood so it's extremely sturdy...works amazing, plus it has all the drawers in it. It's completely covered and blocked right now though.

Here is one I picked up in a clean-out. It's a smaller roll-a-round. I have the homemade wire stripper mounted to it. Right at the moment it's a catch-all.

Here is my big one made out of 2X6's, it has a vice mounted to it.

Old doors work great on a couple of saw horses if space is limited. Fold em up put away till next day.

when you are out picking for scrap look for wood so you can build one yourself. Doesnt have to be pretty just has to work!

I got 25 feet of bench and its all covered! Its just how scrappers are! Haha

I picked up an old solid core door, some 4x4s for legs and some 2x4s for bracing. very solid.

Mine are covered up too, at least the ones i built. I'm using a particle board TV box to work off of out behind the barn. Only picked it up because she said it was an old wooden one and was thinking "cool cabinet", ohwell! Got two sawhorses out in the back with an old sheet of plywood on top that i tinker on sometimes, but most times the ducks use em for shade. You can buy one that's easy to assemble, or build one that's better with a bit more work, or you can just make do with what's available at the time

Save your chest freezers they double as storage, I posted a tool box a while back you may want to look at, using my patterns kz should have the best workshop in America I also use a washing machine for a chop saw table

I'm using an old wooden desk I bought in a large lot but was too ugly to sell. Now its even uglier.

I got a wooden table top for scrap one day with metal legs (two legs broken in half)...took the legs off and was left with the table top...then I looked in the corner of my metal processing facility (called my garage) and saw two metal saw-horsed which I also found as scrap (but functional)....now this it the tricky part...if you take two saw-horses, open them, put a 4 ft wide pice of 1.5" wood on top of them, it amazingly crates a detractable work bench (saw-horses had little shelves when you pull open them). Not too much space to become cluddered, and just enough space to handle just about anything I usually have to scrap and at a perfect work height for me.

When we had our big canopy up last summer, inside we had 2 console tv's that we used for breaking down things. After they got beat up too bad we scrapped them also.

i guess that makes yours the most portable one Actually I clamp a vice to the rail on my trailer, but usually take it off before hitting the road

old railroad rail makes a good place to hammer on too, got 3 of them pieces laying around here
