    Motors

If anyone has a Grainger near by stop in and see if you can get permission to check out their dumpsters. I worked for them a while back and whenever their customers brought in burnt motors, broken pulleys ect they usually just put them in dumpsters. Also I remember once in a while if anything came in damaged like air compressors or roof blowers, instead of sending back to mfg they would take photos of damage for replacements and trash the item. Alot of metals went into trash back then. Might be worth a shot.. good luck.

Thank you for the tip, I have 3 within driving distance. Will definitely check. I'm always trying to think about some good service centers that toss out stuff - but I'm drawing a blank.

Check the dumpsters behind appliance repair companies and heating & cooling companies.

I went to Harbor Freight today because my 4 1/2" angle grinder quit on me. I had this very thread in mind so when I got my replacement grinder I asked the assitant mgr about recycling. I didn't get to talk with the mgr but explained what I do with her and she promised to pass it on. I would guess that most returns would be sent back to the manufacturer or importer but you never know. I offered to provide a receptical for recycalbles. I'll see how it goes. Mike.

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
