    Heads up....Postal Scales

Last week I snagged a 2000 lb Howe beam scale from a local post office off the government deals website. The maintanence guy told me that this year all post offices across the country will be getting rid of any scales that don't hook up to the computer.
So if you're in the market for one, keep an eye on the gov surplus sites.

    I got this for $40.

Thanks Mike. The thing came with the complete set of weights too. It was made in 1960 and it's built like a tank.

If I find myself not using it much, my Amish neighbor already offered me $300 for it.

Sweet. I guess if I already had a good scale I would sell it for that, and be very happy. Mike.

Thanks. When I was browsing the GovDeal site I also noticed one of those counter top fan shaped scales with a 20 oz capacity in my area. Too small for my needs. One thing about postal scales is that they are accurate.

I found mine on this site: http://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm You can either select scales off the index or do a search for X number of miles from your zip code. From what I've heard the post office scales will randomly be listed throughout the year.
If it wasn't for the $ in $crap, it would just be.....
