    Tungsten

Been scrappin' since I was 10 years old and I learn something new every day! My tenant gave me a small bucket of scrap from the back of his truck. He's an oilfield worker. Got about 8 pounds of what he called tungsten.
A magnet just barely attracts to it.
Wonder how to test it. The spot market price is $35 kg.
Anyone know how I'd get the most out of it?

Pick a yard and have them shoot it with their gun so they/you know exactly what it is, whether they will buy it is another story.

If it is solid tungsten it should be grey in colour, and dense. Imagine what 8 pounds of lead looks like - if it is tungsten it will be something like half the size of the lead, but with all the weight.

S.A.R.S in san antonio buys any and all e-waste. They say if you can plug it in the wall they will buy it. I took some motherboards and other stuff i pulled out of cpu's. They are paying about $2.65 a pound for motherboards, not sure on the price of low grade boards, but they will buy them.

If the material is in fact tungsten carbide, we're paying $12.00 per lb. for clean material without steel or silver brazing attached. Just call 800-526-3505 for additional information.
