    Elgin Recycling

Heres what I can make out of the "reciept" that I get from Elgin Recycling.

    Steel $0.08/lb
    Aluminum Cans $0.50/lb
    Aluminum Scrap $0.25/lb
    Mixed Wire/Christmas Lights $0.08/lb

In total, I got $108 for what I brought in. The manager wasn't in today, and that pissed me off because I knew I was going to get screwed. Mixed wire goes for like $0.12 or more!

I also attached a pic of the "reciept" they give me. Nothing is labeled. Just "guess"

mixed wire and x-mas lights have a different price, but it sounds like you need to find another yard anyway...unless the owner helps you sort.

Just two months ago I got 100 pounds of Christmas lights. I spent the time to cut each and every light off the strans. Then I took the barrel in and got $1 a pound for my ins wire. It doesn't take long either.

I did some recently also. Found that one strand can just be unraveled cause it goes a few feet then switches to another one that can be unraveled a few feet, etc. I don't get anywhere near a dollar.
