DVD Players.

So I am an E scrapper it started with my work throwing away PCs. I must have thrown hundreds of computers in our scrap bin at work before I realized that I could get $ for them. now I'm running low on work computers so I'm looking for other sources of Escrap. Craigslist is scarce on free computers but I do see a ton of free DVD players. my question is.. are those high grade boards, I would think they would have 2 in them one power board (low grade) and one main board like board that would be a high grade, also a DVD drive worth 15 cents a lb at my scrap yard. what other possible free craigslist items would have high grade boards???

On the DVD players, no on the hi-grade, if there's alot of ic chips maybe mid-grade at the most, same with vcr's/stereo's, tv's/monitors- all low grade boards . NOW cable boxes and satellite receiver boxes have hi-grade's also.

Thats good to know, so its prolly not worth the time/gas driving around picking them up. too bad you dont find cableboxes on craigslist it seems mostly like junk, big tvs that probly have 2 bucks of copper broken down, but what are you going to do with a huge glass tube. I wish there was like a no brainer easy pick up item on craigslist worth more money and drive time. like 10 bucks a stop would be worth it to me!

I don't think there's any easy answers in scrapping, I just keep collecting, sorting, breaking down, and stashing till I have a big enough load. It all adds up eventually.

how much $ do you think per tv? I dont know if I want to do the crt tube style TV's because of the glass and lead. maybe projection TV's...

Ill never do another projection TV way to much trash to get rid of. I get about $5 to $8 per cert/tv. I do more computer crt's then I do tv's but I get at least $5 out of each one. Usualy at least 2 pounds of copper and wire. Getting rid of the glass is easy for me at my local goodwill. This has been covered a few times allready.
