    Modern Graphics Cards

Lots of high end graphics cards have fans and casings, now are these best left complete when shipping them ???

For example I have 200 similar to this one at the minute, currently testing them to see which are scrap and which have value for resale

Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX 768Mb Dual DVI

    Regards,

    M

They have to be cleaned up. The fan/heat sink is two large. Now...if you only have one or two...its fine but if sending a whole box....it will have to be cleaned up.

Now..thats for me..other buyers may think something else.

I was expecting the need to clean em up tbh, not a great concern at the min as stockpiling while sorting next steps out )

I just tried selling a 6600GT and a 8800 GTX (like yours) on ebay here in Aus, both didn't get a bid at a $5 start price!!

I woukld scrap the lot by weight.

    (just my opinion)

I sold a Nvidia Elite something or other HEAT SINK for $10.00 on ebay....That was just the heat sink, not the actual card.

If you do tear the fans and heatsinks off save them. People will buy them to replace the fanon the card when it goes out. I know I have done it more then once. alot cheaper then buying a new card.

I don't just rely on eBay as a selling venue, my local computer market is £10 for a day stall and they fly out all day there for the upgraders

Since that card is about 3 years old, I doubt anyone will pay a lot for them.

Even if they are non-functional you'd be able to make $10 each on those after shipping/fees everything of that nature has been deducted pretty easily if you have the patience to individually part them out. I'd agree with PartTime, if you do scrap them then save those heatsinks to make some more cash.

Functional models will bring a good bit more than that, probably $40 after everything is said and done, each.
