How much should I make per load on average?

I have a Shortbed, Chevy S-10 stepside. What's the average I should make from each load just collecting like misc metals, and stuff like that? Just looking for a Average as I'm pretty much new, and I'm about to start tomorrow

That's a big area cause we don't know what your going to be scrapping(maybe you don't either). A small truck load of steel might just be $50. but a small truckload of aluminum might just be $150-200. Are you going to be a general scrapper or are you going to be specialized? You need to put a little thought into what your gonna do, print some cheap business cards like I've talked about,(see my example)http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/showt...ko-County-Area and just start.

As stated depends on what you bring down. Here are my averages for a 1995 nissan pickup truck. $54.75. Steel only would be $37.27 and all non farris would be $133.44 average! Hope this helps

Also don't be afraid of steel. When I started steel didn't pay much and I had no place or desire to store it untill I had a truckload. So I left it and searched for more high dollar items, copper, brass and alum. But now price is much higher and worth it. I make about an extra $2k a year by recycling steel! Pluse many things you bring home have steel on them that you will need to remove to get the best price for the item at the yard!

I've gotten $520 in the bed of a shortbed Ranger. Of course it was some copper, stainless, al/cu reefer coils and a bunch of aluminum

Get those small loads in, save the money and get you a small trailer.
